@cnn: Camp La Junta is an all-boys camp in Texas that was devastated by flooding on July 4th. The owners gave CNN rare access to see the damage after the storm. @pamelabrowncnn
the people that created the camp did they realize that that was a flood zone or that could have happened before they created a camp there and looked another place a destination where it's not in a flood zone could they prevent it this were they notified before they did the camp there that was going to be a flood zone

One life to live :
I would never send my kids or grand kids there. No a chance. There are so many other beautiful places to hang out.

My son was a counselor at La Junta and along with the other counselors in his cabin safely evacuated the campers in their cabin with Scott’s amazing leadership. La Junta has been both of my son’s summer camp since second grade. A wonderful place with wonderful leadership.

This is why insurance is so expensive. Don’t allow them to rebuild.

and aren't they supposed to have people checking that out before they build a camp or anything there to make sure that they knew it was a flood zone or if that could have happened don't they have inspections or guidelines for situations to make sure they know so they could be prepared for this

Camp La Junta we love y’all. My son spent many nights there as a friend of their and loved it. Of course they will rebuild just like all the other camps will. If you’ve never been here, then you don’t know what this area and all the camps mean to everyone.

Need to be investigated If built in flood zone, murder charges need to be filed for not protecting the campers.

Thank you for doing an amazing job protecting those kids it’s unfortunate the director of camp mystic didn’t do more yes he couldn’t foresee but I wish that he had taken the proper precautions when he got that warning on his phone

Incredibly heartbreaking. I took a break from this app for about a week because I'm grieving so much for these family's. Maybe I'm supposed to grieve with them. I lift up my prayers for the families involved.

We ♥️Camp La Junta! My son needed a reset and he was 12 when he went for the first time. He learned how to drive a standard, climb a hill, cook a steak, ride a horse, pour concrete, etc….it was mental rest he needed! We were able to go help clean up the property and it meant the world. They still needed so much help!

For those saying “why build again why build in a flood area” to put it into perspective people still build in tornado prone areas, wildfire prone areas, not to mention camp mystic and many other camps were there for years and years without incident
