gentle is not the same as permissive! gentle parenting is constantly reminding yourself to not fly off the handle when your kids do something wrong. permissive is letting them do whatever and wondering why they don’t listen LMFAOOO

The way I was trained in child care and utilize w/ my child…gentle parenting refers more to processing emotions and giving them a safe space to feel them/ explaining why they can’t do XYZ instead of constantly shouting no or telling them they can’t do shit all day. Best believe my child is disciplined and is taught just because you’re hurt doesn’t mean you can hurt others. You also get a safe space to feel upset and aren’t going to ruin everyone else’s fun bc you don’t want to listen rn.
