Yep, I would go to Mexico with my dad when I was young. I speak perfect Spanish, however, when my dad asked for something they would charge him in Pesos, but when I would buy something, they would charge me in dollars.

My dad speaks fluent Spanish, my mom speaks fluent Italian, I speak English so I always lets them do the talking and I just sit there confused af😭😭😭

The Colombian restaurant workers spend day after day, hour after hour talking with American customers. It’s not embarrassing. If anything, it’s embarrassing for them when they try to take my order in English but they can’t carry any type of conversation beyond the names of the dishes or food in English. Just stick Spanish! We’ll get through the order in a much more civilized manner. 🤣
