i always ask people if they want to make it their own. not every client knows how to express what they want for their tattoo in writing or proper art terminology. in my experience 99.999% of the time unless its an homage tattoo they just want something similar to what they bring in on their phone.

Nah those tattoo artists need to get their egos checked, “ I’ll make it better bc I know I can” when someone is paying you for a specific permanent body modification is insane, do what your client wants not whatever you want

I was on a work thing in Greece and found a great artist that was patient and great. I had only two small tattoos at the time. I told him what I wanted for one thing he drafted it up, the other I had an image off the internet. He had great recommendations and enjoyed what he did. He had 11 years of experience and I trusted him wholeheartedly. My only complaint is it ruined for me looking for good artists in the US because he was too good.

Just stop 🛑 it’s not that deep tattoo artist are creative but there job is to trace a image onto someone’s skin for money that’s it there’s no debate ….u can’t compare morales like that to tattooing racist symbols or tattooing kids

I can argue both sides to this. Yes its wrong to copy simeone elses art but take Anerican Trad, there's literally 1000s of copies of the originals and no one complains one bit. In this age of social media, as soon as a piece is put online anyone at all can copy it and there's tons of ppl out there with no imagination. That's why most shops have walls full of flash. Personally, I don't get any work that isn't drawn for me personally. I live in a smaller area and don't want to find a twin at the grocery store lol
