They say the same thing about Kentucky. I am a Hispanic brown skin transgender APRN with an accent and every si for person I’ve dealt with have always treated me with kindness and respect. It varies from person to person. Just love and respect yourself. Btw I love your teaching videos Dr Flyer

idk maybe messy to say but a lot of racist people only really dislike black people who fit the stereotype, if you break it in any way they are fine

I did a contract in a sundown town and it was the worst contract I ever experienced. There’s levels to it. I’ve been to all yt hospitals that were ok. But this one was hateful. It’s different

People loves to scream racism everywhere but you gotta go and experience - Sometimes, they are just afraid of leaving their comfort zone …

I have been to many sundown towns, I know they are racist and they have this weird look on their face when I speak. My accent .... makes it different. Not discounting others experiences.

Living in Mississippi my whole life, that’s my experience too. There are better parts and worse parts. But it just means there are good people and bad people. Rarely do actual racists group up enough to have entire communities.

The town I live in has a racist history - but it’s not hidden away and it is openly discussed in the context of history anyways

It is also possible that they treated you fairly because you are a physician, someone else who is black and a cleaner may experience the same town very differently than you did.
