Cover it in a papier-mâché prime, then paint that with an actual priming paint. It won’t look so much like cardboard after that.

make it like a wizard's tower, round it out a little more and do a stair design and a little rough with a peice that can move up and down a little like a window

If you want to give it a stone texture you can paint on watered down glue then put TP on it and add more glue. Use the brush to add texture and it can give you a nice stone texture. There’s some YouTube videos showing the process

I used to make cardboard deck boxes for my magic the Gathering decks in my younger teen days and literally just found them 15 years they have been sitting and those boxes held up and only dust got to them.
