first of all, the insinuation that he would’ve been fast track to the big leagues after he just had a slight regression in college is crazy. Yes he lost some money by not signing, but also signed a big NIL deal which made him almost as much. He also gets to live in a nice apartment, and his food is free. In the minors you’re not making hardly any money, and you’re having to pay for your own food and Apartment. You also have better facilities at A&M than pretty much any minor league club. If he comes back for his senior year, he will probably make plenty of NIL money again, plus whatever signing bonus he might get next year, and he’ll have a degree too.

It’s a win win situation for him, if he takes a step back he still gets paid, still will probably get drafted. And why not end what you started at the college level

He went back, probably finished his studies and he honestly if he gets the slot value in a roundabout way he got paid more then he would when he was drafted in the third round, coupled with the NIL
