As a neutral third party observer (canadian) I think it’s because the giant cups of sauce remind them of the giant cup of “curry sauce” they get with their fried food back home

There are Popeyes locations in the UK. They also have KFC everywhere over there too. Raising Cane’s would be totally new to them. Not something I would recommend personally, but I get it.
