I personally dont like any Mira ship. the others I dont mind much but the Mira ones really get to me because 1 not every girl needs a man and 2 she actively hates them and it feels so forced especially when she actively hates the ship IN THE MOVIE.

yeah I’m just.. never associating myself with fandoms ever again. people are way too romance-obsessed when it’s like, first of all it’s a “kids movie”, second of all, it’s centered around huntrix’s story, around rumis story and her past—not about the men in her life (or the lack of cough cough). the fans in the movie also jump onto the ships and romantic side of them because that’s what people do in real life—romanticize idols and put them on this pedestal, holding such high expectations for them when they’re human beings as well. they didn’t ask to be shipped with them, they didn’t ask to be thrown onto them either. that’s quite literally what happened, especially with rumi and jinu. it just felt rushed and came out of nowhere

I don’t like Jinu either but not his whole “redemption” but, I think that Jinu dying to save rumi was a perfect ending for his story because he finally had a chance to do what he didn’t do for his family when he was human though I don’t think that’s enough to redeem him either, I seen it more as an apology to rumi. The reason I don’t like jinu is because him and rumi seemed to fall in love practically instantly and that he was somehow the one that helped her accept who she really was instead of her two best friends that care about her more than anyone else

The ship between him and Rumi is cute but they realistically only knew each other for like, two weeks at best??? I feel like people hyped up the romance way too much, when the movie wasn’t even about romance. But I like that the movie made it clear that Jinu sucked. Not as a character but he was just a bad person—sacrificing himself was the very least he could’ve done at the end, and I’m glad they didn’t kiss. He didn’t earn that.

I think if they were given the full 3 hours they wanted Jinu and the other Sajas would’ve had a lot more character development that they really really need, and then maybe the romance plot could have been better

I dont really feel any connection to any of the saja boys other than jinu tbh. They didnt get any real character development and were barely even side characters. Jinu was an interesting character to me and was great with helping Rumi learn to accept herself. I like him. The movie aint about their romance though, it’s about accepting yourself and also giving yourself more grace even despite your flaws or things youve done in the past. He helped her learn to accept herself as who she is, and she taught him to forgive himself. I think that whatever was between them was important to the story and It frustrates me that that gets overlooked. So many people are so caught up in being perfect that they spiral and dont move on from the terrible things theyve done in the past. I think its important to let yourself live and change and grow instead of letting your past actions rip you to shreds. I mean, Jinu is a demon BECAUSE that guilt and self loathing eats him alive, and hes a good example. Yeah he was terrible and he abandoned his family to live in luxury, I wont argue against that. But I think a lot of people are missing the point of why their arcs are intertwined like that.

the rujinu subplot was poorly written and executed and the movie sacrificed time that could’ve been spent expanding on rumi’s family and the other huntrix to focus on a half baked under seasoned romance that didn’t even add real stakes to the plot and didn’t need to be there to do that anyway. i’d be all for humanizing the demons, and even the saja boys, but the way the movie tried was incredibly lackluster and honestly didn’t need to be there if that was genuinely their best attempt lmao
