Are reporter not good at coming up with better questions, despite it being their job? They could choose to instead ask questions to attempt to lift the players spirits but they instead ask the unoriginal questions. They would get tired of me because I would always respond, "if you were me what would you do better?" "How would YOU feel after just losing a game?"
