Yeah! It’s really prevalent in UI design, if u remember the iOS versions before iOS 7 and how they had somewhat realistic, complex designs, they were in the design philosophy of “skeumorphism” to sort of help new users understand the iPhone better. iOS 7 flattened that design, but a lot of the icons are still the same

Omg I’m obsessed with the psychology of iconography and I completely agree I love skeuomorphs but I think with the digital age it makes sense that designers don’t want to assign an analog symbol to everything esp as newer gens don’t know those old symbols .. but it makes sense to me lol

I love these! I remember when I traveled up to Canada and was driving through Toronto that the directions to the airport where symbols of an airplane and the airplanes were pointed in the direction you were supposed to go, and I thought that was genius
