You're supposed to drink your weight in ounces of water a day. there are 138 oz of water in a day. That's like a size 2! Unfortunately, I have a lot of health issues but we're in the process of running vitamin and mineral blood tests. I've been stuck in bed for 3 years. I can't walk more than 30 seconds without sitting or leaning on something. I've been on a weightloss shot...I hit the 100 lb weight loss mark last week. It's been 8 months. But because I can't get up and get moving, I'm never hungry. I was eating a meal a day and even though it would take forever to digest, my body was going into starvation mode. So, I love that you are doing what you're doing and if you're on a medication, it means that you've told them what you're doing and anyone that criticizes you, or worse, tries to give you advise... you can tell them what I do. I say, "Whoa! Did you go to med school overnight? Because I have an amazing medical team that includes 9 doctors, a physical therapist, and an amazing pharmacy so unless you got an MD or DO from and passed your boards, get off my ass!" I, personally used to have this theory that I didn't drink calories. I used to joke that it used to be only when I drank booze... well alcohol makes severe chronic neuropathic pain syndrome and chronic nociceptive pain syndrome worse. Well I cannot enough water plus calories in... so I had to start drinking things like Liquid IV that I add to my water. But I started tracking what I was eating and I was eating less than a bariatric patient! And I have kidney disease so my protein intake has to be lower than normal and I'm still having some issues. But my team is figuring it out! I'm so proud of you for your discipline.. and you did inspire me to make a video!

The body needs water to function correctly, but drinking too much too fast can have serious health consequences. The kidneys can only remove 0.8 to 1.0 liters (L) of water per hour, and a very high water intake can upset the body’s electrolyte balance. It is difficult to drink too much water by accident, but it can happen, usually as a result of overhydrating during sporting events or intense training. The symptoms of water intoxication can be vagueTrusted Source or unspecific. They can include confusion, disorientation, nausea, and vomiting. In rare cases, water intoxication can cause swelling in the brain and become fatal. This article describes the symptoms, causes, and effects of water intoxication. It also looks into Also known as water poisoning, water intoxication is a disruptionTrusted Source of brain function caused by drinking too much water. Doing so increases the amount of water in the blood. This can dilute the electrolytes, especially sodium, in the blood. If sodium levels fall below 135 millimoles per liter (mmol/l), doctors refer to the issue as hyponatremia. Sodium helps maintain the balance of fluids inside and outside of cells. When sodium levels drop due to excessive water consumption, fluids travel from the outside to the inside of cells, causing them to swell. When this happens to brain cells, it can be dangerous and even life threatening.
