So I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but if the plane is falling at 80mph, and you jump out, that force doesn't go away. You are now going 80mph, but with no metal or anything around you. You will now take 100% damage in the crash.

My friends stayed in the plane after being flipped by the high line wires they hit. Their feet blew through the toe of their boots upon impact

barring airframe or rigging failure, I would follow procedure I was taught for landing off-airport; fly the damn airplane all the way to the ground, even if I have to do a falling leaf stall and pancake it to the ground. My biggest gripe is there are lots of great fields to land in, but farmers leave crap and fences everywhere and power companies run power lines everywhere, ruining good land-out spots

this is basically the same question as if you were in a free falling elevator, and you jumped right before it hit the bottom would you be OK?

No I stay in the plane. I always fly a 182 for skydiving and I always have a parachute at 1000’ I would exit the plane.
