@tellthebeees: Original video by @Élise #cheating #affair #discourse #astronomer #coldplay #twitter #tellthebeees #americancheating astronomer CEO Andy Byron Coldplay cheating
This is actually an incredibly empathetic take. They’re VERY wrong for cheating but people piling onto them isn’t rooted in “accountability” it’s coming from a place of perceived superior morality

idk why people in this comment section tryna poke holes in your argument. we were never meant to stand trial in front of the entire world. the internet has normalized, but that doesn't mean its a good thing.

Truly the “help me find this person” trend is a nightmare. To exist in public and randomly become the fixation of strangers is terrifying.

i wonder if he wasnt a ceo and she wasnt the head of HR and they weren’t in a private suite if this would have been the reaction. Like if they were normal people in normal seats. I think there’s an element of anti-rich people, anti-boss anger thats driving a lot of this. im obviously biased

I don’t think people would be this eager to publicly shame them if it wasn’t a workplace affair by the CEO and the HR head, who are preaching “work ethics”. People are tired of being told to do the right things by millionare while they never practice what they preach.

Definitely a difference between making a mistake like being caught on camera tripping over or having a bad day and being caught on camera having an affair. Affairs aren’t mistakes and it’s not moral superiority to say you’d never cheat

what this “scandal” has taught me is that the people yearn for lashings in the town square to make a comeback

I do agree with this, but i think it’s important to acknowledge that shaming/public shaming plays an important societal role in enforcing moral and ethical standards. This man (a ceo) cheated with his head of HR and cheating/it becoming public jeopardizes the workers at the company he runs. A lot of the issues we see in society with ppl acting with impunity stems from this “just let them” mindset

I disagree with your take. Yes, privacy is necessary, but does not apply in this case. They are grown, have agency, and in a public place.

Also someone needs to call out Coldplay for this. He didn’t need to do that.

I agree the internet takes it too far but they were so brazen and public that it’s hard to feel bad for anyone but their spouses. I do think you (with nearly 200k followers) doing this video—naming them/showing their faces—also contributes to the hysteria. And I too am guilty by liking and commenting. I mean my first thought when I saw their video was “I can’t wait to see what Tell The Bees says!”

Thank you for this video. I’ve noticed a pattern on TikTok or the Internet, where people get obsessed with a certain scandal. They will literally obsess over “holding people accountable” until they get tired of shaming/ doxxing certain people and then they’ll move onto the next group

I understand your pov. I would add that they were in a public space, with no expectation of privacy. Also, they inhabit public roles in their professional life. The CEO of a company is the public face of that company, the head of Human Resources needs to demonstrate exemplary behaviour 🤷🏼♀️I think this is an exaggerated consequence for there actions, but only in scope. It would have been a scandal regardless.
