I am sure you know this but just in case - it’s caused by your uterus contracting to return to its pre-pregnancy size. Breastfeeding can intensify them due to the release of oxytocin, a hormone that triggers uterine contractions but usually you don’t have them as long thanks to nursing. I had such bad pains w/ my 2nd that I would cry while nursing. I hope it’s gotten better for you. I quit after the second.
