@rynnstar: #stitch with @diamond I am genuinely trying to be less reactive in my responses to things on this app, hence the visible struggle on my face😭

a billion is too big of a number for people to conceptualize. they dont understand how absurd that amount is. a difference between a million dollars and a billion dollars is roughly a billion dollars. like its not just a silly phrase, its the absurdity of the amount. if you take away 1 mil from a billionaire it is 0.1% of their money. (also billionaires dont actually do anything to earn that money. they provide nothing to society)

How does one ethically EARN one billion dollars without exploiting and devaluing the work of others? Quick. (To the stitched person)

People who defend billionaires don’t have an idea of how much money that truly is. There are NO ethical billionaires. Period!

Elon Musk once said that if the UN gave him a figure he would solve world hunger. The UN did, $6 billion. Elon Musk has more than $6 billion and could lose that without changing anything about his life. From that point on world hunger is Elon Musk’s fault.

Also, knowing how industries work ie. the exploitation of workers, in order to amass that shear amount of wealth, how many people died to create one billionaire? How many communities destroyed? There are no billionaires with clean hands

I fully believe anything gained beyond enough to live a comfortable life is unethical. The problem is I don't have an exact point where comfortable is.

‘Who started it’ like it’s a trend and not COMMON SENSE BASED ON ETHICS. It’s so worrying how many people need to be told what to think and assume everyone else does too

Every single time someone explains the mathematics of the literally mind boggling amount that is even 1 billion dollars and then what it can do just cements that if you were a good person and a billionaire you would no longer be a billionaire because you’d use that vast wealth to help people. (Not to mention making that billion itself was probably off the backs of hundreds of workers who don’t get to see the wealth they make that one person)

I feel like part of the issue that people like that have is that it's quite literally impossible to consepulize billions of dollars. Jeff Bezos's wedding cost around 50 million dollars. him spending that much on his wedding is the equivalent of somebody making 50000 a year spending 10 dollars. That's a relatively inexpensive lunch. Even as I type this I can't truly visualize that kind of wealth.

Right? I can’t keep my emergency fund with money in it because there’s so many people in desperate need and it’s ok to hoard more money than you could spend in the life of the planet? No

The people who try to defend billionaires think they’re going to become billionaires. Meanwhile, they weren’t born with generational wealth, and think it was all hard work that earned more money than any one person will ever need.

These people also obviously can’t conceptualize how much a billion is, like no one should have/need that much money, being evil is literally the only logical explanation
