@berncosheriff: 🚁 METRO AIR SUPPORT ASSISTS IN TAOS SHOOTING SEARCH 🚁 Yesterday, the Metro Air Support Unit (MASU) was requested by New Mexico State Police to assist in the search for a shooting suspect in Taos, NM. At approximately 1458 hours, MASU was activated to help locate a 35-year-old male believed to be involved in a deadly shooting. Metro 1 launched and arrived in Taos by 1717 hours, conducting a detailed grid search of both residential areas and the mountainous terrain east of the scene. Using the FLIR 380HDC camera system, Metro 1 identified several hotspots and guided State tactical teams into those areas. Despite the suspect having nearly a 3-hour head start, coordinated efforts continued late into the evening. Following the multi-agency response, the suspect was later arrested by New Mexico State Police. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is proud to support our fellow agencies. MASU remains ready to assist law enforcement statewide in the fight against violent crime.
