Since he don’t know I’ll tell you. Slicks are made up of a really soft compound, that compound can take up to 40 minutes to heat up(cold tire=no grip) also with slicks being super soft they wear extremely fast, the slicks on my 636 wont last more than 2/3 track days…..

Not all tires are created equally, you should read the treadwear index. The lower the number the better the grip. Also lower number tyres will do less distance before running out of tread.

Kinda true, slicks need to be hotter to work properly as they are a race tire. Good luck on a street ride.

Your wrong. Slicks absolutely need to be hot to have even remotely ok traction. You will go down if you lean on slicks without them being at temp. Your absolutely wrong. You’ll never get slicks at operating temp on public roads. There built totally different. Silica is in dot tires so they heat up fast. Slicks have no silica. It’s not about tread it’s about how there built.
