In my experience, it’s cuz they never forget. They make a snap judgment for whatever the reason is, and now that person is eternally a source of “the ick”. Men don’t get the ick because we understand that our opinions about someone else are not “the truth”. It’s just our opinions. We’ll walk away and go about our day. A lot of women will talk smack and still let it fester within them later. Seems like a lot of wasted energy on women’s part.

“The ick” is a toxic social construct that nothing more than a justification for bias, prejudice, and toxic judgement masked as “gut feeling”. It’s a way for people to not take ownership of their own biases, and women have it more right now because it’s a popular phrase on social media.

Women aren’t taught to be respectful of men like men are taught to be respectful of women. Men are taught to give women space to be themselves. Women are not taught the same about men.

Women judge on a feeling that has no merit to actuality. This is why they’re called irrational, illogical, and even hysterical. Women need to learn to start judging everyone on merit and not on a feeling.
