Boba’s global popularity has skyrocketed in recent years. The milk tea beverage became popular in Taiwan in the 1980’s and has since made its way overseas. Taiwan-based chain HeChaLou is one of the Portland metro areas’ newest boba offerings. Located in an unassuming Beaverton strip mall off of Teal Boulevard, it’s neighbors are a Safeway and Planet Fitness. Inside, the space is trendy and totally Instagramable.
