I believe less than 2% of the money given by the federal DoE to the states actually helps the kids in any way, and our education system has gotten worse and worse every year since it was created. it needs to go and politics should NEVER enter a classroom unless it's a high school elective class

First of all, he can’t shut down the department of education because it was created by Congress. Congress needs to dismantle it. That is why he’s laying off a significant amount of personnel and delegating other responsibilities to other government offices.
