Honestly I wanted to love it but it’s a downgrade from the original. They all LOOK great, for sure. Loved the outfits. Loved that they’re all traditional monsters from their countries too. Super dope idea. And their dancing is awesome. However the music video itself is empty and mid compared to the original that was fully cast with dancers as extra students. All in full monster makeup. And the detail that went into the school set as well. Like using the MH logo or the Cheerleeding outfits of the webtoons in the original video, this one feels really empty and bland. Also changing so many lyrics seemed like they sanitized the message of the original. Very Kids Bop for sure. I’m really put off by the lyric changes, it’s the worst issue for me. The rap was cute I guess but they rewrote like half the song and not for the better imho. Which was about celebrating how weird and quirky and strange we all are but can still come together in spite of those differences. Plus the original’s sound was more bombastic I feel too. This one seems lower energy. I really wanted to love it y’all I promise but it’s just kinda meh compared to the original song and music video. I wish it had the same production effort put in. More Bratz than Monster High

The reason why their wasn’t any references to death is because the writer for the show said that they wanted to remove the aspect of them being “dead students”, and rather it be just types of monsters.

The song is just a COVER of the original and not even a remix. They reached out to katseye because they thought the girls suited the sound. This is just a cover which could have been released on SoundCloud. Not a big deal… if it was, it would have been marketed as such and not a last minute drop lol
