This is me speaking personally, but I can’t think of a single downside. I’m compensated well, treated well, and have great hours.

The ratio of NPs to patients, losing pay if you have been a nurse for a while, Np school does not prepare you to perform like a physician and they don’t understand that.

Idk I went to NP school for free and I work from home 3 days a week for a company who licensed me in every state. So I’m at peace as an NP.

The google reviews from disgruntled patients with your fullllllll Name 🤣! “I came in after waking up this morning with a stuffy nose and ******* NP gave me some nose spray, it’s been 5 hours and my nose still stopped up, everyone else gave me a Zpack, hire someone who knows what they are doing”

Scheduling, lack of respect, seeing the same load as a MD but getting paid a 1/10th of their salary. Despite these things, wouldn’t go back. Love my patients

Can no longer leave work at work, working well above my 40hrs but on salary so not getting compensated. Increased responsibility & liability. Making tons of money for an organization on billing and ordering testing yet pay is the same as RN. Wish I never did it
