When you say “Amen”, you are saying you believe that the Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. This has been believed by Catholic and Orthodox since the very beginning.

I was Episcopal (spin-off of the Catholic Church) and attended a Catholic mass and was refused communion. It was wild to me to be denied because I wasn’t catholic 😬

Church of Christ also says if you take communion not worthy of it you condemn yourself to he'll. My mom was raised Church of Christ and she used to think the same

I grew up Baptist and was baptized last year into the Catholic Church. I believe that no matter how you get to Jesus that is the goal! Yes Jesus was a Jew BUT in all fairness Jesus created the Catholic Church. Protestants didn’t like the rules of the Catholic Church (kings not able to marry multiple women) and created new churches. The goal is…go to Christ. Not sure why you think I would think my priest has a different relationship with Jesus than I do. Do I think he is better educated on Christs teachings, and he has devoted his life to Christs teachings and our church…absolutely. But my relationship with Jesus is mine. We all have our own relationship with Jesus. No one is better than the other. For me the Catholic Church we attend has brought me closer to Christ and that’s why I converted. No one should criticize how anyone goes to Christ. We should celebrate that we are all there.

The fact that she said the rules come from the early church is a problem for me. that is exactly what Jesus was talking about when he said WOE to you, Pharisees, the legalism over the actual word and what was meant by the word.

No wonder why she didn’t tag you. 🤦🏽♀️You’re missing the entire point. To each their own. At the end of the day we are all believers, one religion isn’t better than the other.

I like how you thoroughly explained this. Jesus called out Pharisees for adding their own laws and traditions to Gods law to benefit themselves basically and make it harder for others to come to God. They used the manmade laws and traditions to elevate themselves above others, and even created laws that subverted some of the 10 commandments. This all seems very rinse repeat imo. Scripture is clear, and Scripture has final say. Not some man elevated by other men. The only man who has final say was the man elevated on the cross — Jesus. And Scripture is His Word. There is a lack of Biblical literacy in people who claim to be Christlike. How can you claim to be a Christian and not read His Word? That’s how you get to know Him. It is truly sad how many people don’t stand on business when it comes to Scripture but will double down on manmade laws and traditions.
