These guys using their feet to try and gauge the slope of the greens takes up way too much time and they still miss the putt. As soon as I see someone in my group try it I tell them if they do it again I’m leaving. Jack never did it, Arnie didn’t need it. Tiger never did it.

Why does everyone keep talking about pace or play when nothing is ever done not just on a PGA tour, but on public course as well. Bottom line it’s all about money any public course I played. I’ve never seen an ambassador push anybody to speed the game up why they paid to play.

What was the pace of play for all the other groups?

I do think the pga is a different animal. 7500 yard tough courses. Guys hitting it a mile forcing pros to wait for the greens to clear & millions at stake. For the rest of us, it’s a simple concept, keep up with the group in front of you

But here’s the thing, you’re not making money if everyone is playing 6 hour rounds bc you get behind on times. The faster you play the more ppl get on

I agree with you 100%. I have this course near me called Aldean. It requires some for of cart either push or riding for the reason of having timers. They will tell you to pick up your pace or skip a hole. What is your opinion on this? I personally like it so I’m not on the course for 5 hours.

It’s a distance problem. Roll it back.

Until speed becomes a scoring component of the game this will never change.

For us regular people, golf has become too accessible. I liked it better before The Wastw Management TikTok vibe golfers all started.

I did just that and it was fabulous. It’s The Open at Portrush. Today it’s raining. Americans need to slow down and enjoy what little time they have left here. I had 9 hours of the Open on while I got some chores done and 9 hole in the garage. When I’m on the course, I want to decompress. I want to relax and everything around me to slow down. I wish my rounds would take 5-6 hours. I want to enjoy my time out there with my friends, like I did when I was a kid. If I want to hurry, follow rules, keep up with others around me I’d go back to work.

Tee times need to be 10 minutes apart at the bare minimum. 12 minutes is the sweet spot.

Pace of play would not be an issue if everybody jumped on to Moe Norman swing
