My Dad paid for his own LI and had me listed as the only beneficiary. He told me multiple times he was leaving that $ for me. I ended up splitting it 3 ways and gave my brothers a cut. I regretted that within 24 hrs. My partner had his own large LI policy. He died a year before my father had his son and me as beneficiaries. His son also had a fully paid college fund and other accounts set up with savings for a down payment on a home prior to his death so I wasn't leaving him high & dry and running off with all his Dad's money. When he said he was adding me as a beneficiary I initially said I'd never take money meant for his son. He laughed and explained his son is set up and will be fine if anything happens to him and he wanted me to be set up and comfortable also. He died unexpectedly 2 months after that conversation.

Lol i been selling life insurance for 10 years the problem is people can only afford term a lot of people cant afford whole life. Very much worth it but premiums could be anywhere from $300-$3k a month depending on age and health
