Here’s what I’d NEVER teach my clients with MS 🫢⬇️ As an MS-specialized physical therapist, I know how important it is to tailor every exercise to how MS affects your body—not just follow a generic PT plan. Avoiding common advice that doesn’t work for someone with MS has helped so many of my clients feel stronger, more stable, and more confident. 💪 Here are 4 things I would never teach: 1️⃣ Pushing to the point of fatigue Overdoing it can increase your fatigue and make your form worse, which raises your risk of tripping or injury. Focus on quality movement over long sessions! 🚶‍♀️ 2️⃣ Trying everything at once When symptoms flare, it’s tempting to throw the whole toolbox at it. But if you try too many ‘solutions’ at once, you won’t know what’s actually working. Start slow, and add one thing at a time. 3️⃣ Generic PT exercises What works for a sprained ankle or back pain doesn’t always work for MS. You deserve exercises designed specifically for what your body is dealing with. That’s where functional movement comes in, and it makes a *huge* difference. 💥 4️⃣ All-or-nothing workouts You don’t need a 30-minute block to make progress. Movement counts even when it’s broken up. If 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes later in the day works better for you, go for it! Have you ever seen a PT for your MS? Let me know in the comments! 💬 #multiplesclerosisawareness #multiplesclerosis #invisibleillness #mobilitywork #spooniesupport #chronicillnesswarrior
