I hear this complaint a lot from a certain demographic and my feeling is what they really want is for their prejudices to be upheld and their worldview reinforced. They’re not really looking to expand their horizons and I find that pretty sad.

I ❤️Louise Erdrich. I drove to MB to go to her bookstore and made my mom swear to god she wouldn’t say anything to anyone in there once we were inside. PS - no Brooks did not read that. He probably only reads male authors.
