Dancer in the Dark was incredible & I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to watch it again. I still love the music & how they transitioned from the scenes into songs…but the movie absolutely destroyed me. I was literally *sobbing* in the theatre 😆💜

Gotta say start with Homogenic. A perfect album from start to finish. Pluto remains my favorite Bjork song. Vespertine is great and maybe more palatable for a newbie but I think Homogenic is more exciting IMO.

bjork has an incredible, visceral voice and distinct sound with innovative visuals that put her in my top 5 most creative artists when it comes to music videos, it's surprising how underrated she is in the USA with her highest charting billboard song being Earth Intruders at #84, which she wrote with timbaland for her 6th album. but artistry is about impact on the human spirit and inspiration through the power of authentic expression and for me she has the power to channel high vibrational energy into digestible portions for mainstream consumption and it feels like synesthesia. sidebar, i would love to hear a collaboration between her and Sia.

My mom has died two years prior to Dancer in the Dark. At the end of that movie I was a snotty, blubbering mess, and two friends walked in for the next showing while I tried to collect myself. God that soundtrack is perfect!

I met her when I went to a record signing for Life’s Too Good when she was with the Sugarcubes. She was on the cusp of her fame and was super sweet. I still have the autographed album.
