"Avatar Aang tasked us with...." 🗣📣 AVATAR AANG FLED THE SOUTHERN AIR TEMPLE BECAUSE HE WANTED HIS FREEDOM MORE THAN HE WANTED TO BE AVATAR. Aang left them BECAUSE they weren't going to let him decide for himself who he could and couldn't stay with. Avatar Aang went against literally EVERYONE, including his OWN PAST LIVES, to NOT exterminate Firelord Ozai because that was against his PERSONAL BELIEFS over his duty as the Avatar. He broke unlocking charas, against all forwarning, to CHOOSE Katara. The entire over branching theme with Aang is that he's an example of FREEDOM AND CHOICE being valuable and not comprising yourself for others. This goes against EVERYTHING he stood for and he wouldve flown off YEARS ago if he were Korra. Y'all never really knew Aang.

Considering how aang learnt to be the avatar and what he experienced, there’s no way in hell he would of wanted the next avatar controlled and contained… he would of wanted them to be given support, masters to train with/ guide & to be protected
