I lowkeyyyy disagree about Portland not making the right moves to win, they competed in a stacked west for the majority of his time there and even had a WCF during the warriors dynasty. They drafted really well during and after his tenure too, I just think it’s a small market issue of not having stars want to play in Oregon

No disrespect. But I believe that this perspective is very shallow. It’s not really a matter of “rewarding” the franchise. He has love for the city, he loves the franchise. He feels they changed his life. He never wanted to leave Portland fr, plus he wants to rehab around his family

I’d disagree but having CJ as his best teammate after Aldridge left is criminal for a guy with Dames talent.

I think you're right about the idea generally but I don't think this is a great example of that. Dame isn't playing most of this year, if at all. He has guaranteed money (on top of his buyout money) for this year and the post injury year and then can opt out to seek whatever his market is. No other NBA team was giving him this offer. It's just a mutually beneficial situation.

Damien lillard is one of those rare players that everyone wants to see succeed but it’s a shame his front office is not one of them
