All these people will be watching it. I'm hoping its closer to the books than the films and the younger kids can actually better BUT I can still love the films. It's like UK/US The Office debate. you can watch/like both!!

All the people complaining are going to be the first ones flocking to watch it. They just want to seem cool/relevant by jumping on the bandwagon. Plus there's about a million adaptations of things like Spiderman, Superman, Pride and Prejudice, Dracula, Agatha Christie novels. Why not this too? Why can't there be several adaptations of it? I'd love to see an animated version too. They can all exist at the same time.

I'm actually excited about the TV show. and it's not a remake, it's just a whole new adaptation of the books, it has nothing to do with the films. they're not taking anything away from us, they're actually adding. because, let's be honest, the films were great films, but terrible adaptations.

I understand your point. But generally remake shouldn’t be done so soon without a specific reason. More importantly, the author’s transphobia is so viscerally hostile, that I would not support anything that would bring her more money, which she can then used to hurt other people.

Im curious to see it. Alot of book scenes i would love to see. One of the few people that actually still loves JK Rowling too. I just cant get over Snape. The only character in the series where changing his skin colour is actually a really bad idea. Make him like idk lockhart or something.
