GURWM for bed while I talk about what the phrase “if he wanted to, he would” means to me… it’s common phrase you hear girls say all the time: “if he wanted to, he would.” and the common rebuttal is always: “well he can’t read your mind, you just have to tell him.” and yes, i do agree, in some situations things need to just be straight up communicated. but i think what a lot of people lack to realize is that it is not about the actual material goods, date plans, or simple actions; it’s the fact that THEY thought of it. that they cared enough to try to make their friend or partner happy. it doesn’t have to perfectly hit the mark. it’s about remembering little details about someone and proving that you care. it’s like flowers: I want flowers, but i don’t want to tell you I want flowers because then you are just gonna get me flowers because I said I want flowers not because you wanted to give me flowers and therefore they aren’t worth as much.
