I was soooo mad when they didn’t show the scars in the movies. As someone with burns scars that was one of the most important things to me in the books. One of the nurses in the hospital recommended the books to me because of that

While the movies emphasized “invisible” mental challenges, I agree that seeing the scars is also important to his character, his development and his relationship with Katniss. 🥲🤎

Speaking of fire, I don’t know if this has been said before but the rebellion could never have happened without the trio from 12. Haymitch was the flint striker. He was primed and ready to rebel in his games, but he had nothing to create sparks. Peeta- the boy who disguised himself as a rock- was the flint. He and Haymitch worked together to make those sparks with the love story, and they kept working together to bring the slow burn that was Katniss. They needed more fuel, so added the kindling- the other victors- to help keep her, the girl on fire, alive, to spread the rebellion throughout the districts.

I definitely remember the first time watching the movies that I felt so disappointed that they weren’t more physically damaged and scarred. All they’d been through by the end of the book really stuck with me, and it felt wrong. but of course movies need people to be 100% perfect pretty all the time 😣

that's SO HEARTWRENCHING, but I really appreciate the art. it's interesting that their story starts with Peata burning bread to save her and ends with Peata putting out flames to save her. kinda a full circle kind of feeling

in the first book they promised each other to pull each other's cape off before they knew their parade outfits were safe, Peeta kept that promise when her cape was actually on fire

I think they cut the scene in the movies because I remember Josh saying that the last scene they filmed in mockingjay Is when he Is trying to save katniss from the fire. There Is also a photo that I saw of Peeta it's a like a bts photo. So sad that they didn't keep It 🥲
