He chose to give Mondstadt freedom, not because he doesn’t care, but because he cares more than anyone else. Venti was the first Archon to overthrow a tyrant god, Decarabian, and he didn’t crown himself ruler. Instead, he gave power to the people. Unlike other gods who keep control, Venti believes true freedom means letting go. He doesn't rule with fear or force, he guides from the shadows, appearing only when Mondstadt truly needs him. He helped stop Stormterror without demanding thanks. He protected Mondstadt during the Cataclysm and mourned the loss of his friends in silence. His carefree nature hides centuries of pain. He’s one of the oldest Archons, yet he walks among mortals as a bard, listening to their songs and stories, not demanding worship but earning love. Venti represents the ideal of freedom. He doesn’t micromanage or build statues in his name. Instead, he watches over a nation that stands on its own feet, happy, strong, and truly free. That’s real strength. That’s real love. That’s a real Archon.

Before becoming the Anemo Archon, Venti is described as “a single thread of the thousand winds.” Istaroth herself was called “the thousand winds of time.” His character demo even contains the phrase “born from the branches of time.” Other details that quietly tie them together: Venti knows every song from the past, present, and future — something more fitting for a god touched by time. - His elemental skill resembles a clock face. - His specialty dish mentions “tiny twists of fate.” - The sundial’s inscription reads: “Stories brought on the wind will bloom into legends in due time.” Venti also has moments that suggest a link to guiding souls and destiny: helping the spirit of Stanley, or easing Xiao’s karmic burden, both connected to lingering pasts. In older texts, people speak of Istaroth’s kid moving along threads of fate, awaiting their mother’s thousand threads. It mirrors how Venti himself was once described as a thread among the thousand winds. Even the Sacrificial Sword mentions how people once worshipped the masters of wind and time together at a cliff facing the eastern sea likely Starsnatch Cliff, which may have been part of a forgotten vertical structure, as the Traveler observes.
