@chronicallyjenni: My Top Adaptive Kitchen Hacks! Living with chronic illness, fatigue & pain means I have to find ways to make everyday tasks easier, especially in the kitchen. Head to the Hacks section of my website for all the links! These are some of the tools and tricks that help me: 1. Wheelie Saddle Stool – It allows me to move around the kitchen while staying seated. It’s easy to manoeuvre & surprisingly comfy. 2. Pre-prepped frozen veg & microwave meals! An absolute lifesavers when I’m low on energy. It’s not lazy, it’s adaptive. 3. L-shaped Knife. This was one of the first EDS Hacks I got & it allows me to cut using wrist strength, so I’m not putting pressure through painful finger joints. 4. Automatic Tin Opener, hands-free and so satisfying to use! Even Ian and my support workers are fans. 5. Palm Peeler. Worn like a ring and super easy to use if you struggle with grip or fine motor skills. 6. Jar, bottle & pull ring openers. I have a variety of gadgets but my 6-in-1 opener handles most packaging with ease. 7. Grip Toggles. Clever attachments that fit onto utensils to make them easier to hold & you can turn them around and use the suction cup to help open drawers and cupboards 8. Hiring a Cleaner. I get help every two weeks, and my mother-in-law kindly supports me in between. Keeping the kitchen clean and functional. Asking for help is just as good as any gadget, you don't have to do it all yourself! What would you add to the list? Chip fryer basket inside a saucepan so you can cook pasta/potatoes and then only have to lift the weight of the pasta/spuds and reduce burn risk! Let water cool and deal later!

For me (AuDHD with time blindness and executive dysfunctionality) I find having an Alexa to walk me through a recipe step-by-step and also set reminders/alarms to check stuff ain't burning!

I have a chicken shredder! You cut the chicken into smaller pieces and then set them on the bottom part, put on the lid, and twist around. It’s so much better than two forks!

those jar lid grips are a perfect example of "accessiblility helps everyone" yes it may have been designed to help those with reduced grip, but i think it could probably help anyone with tough lids!

I’ve been thinking about getting a rolling stool since I can’t get my rollator up the stairs and I need something in my house. Does the version you have get tall enough for counters?
