@crimedivewithjess2.0: KY Hotel ordered to pay $2 million to the family of a man who di*d after a 150 degree shower! #awareness #kentucky #erlanger #truecrime #justice
There has to be a lot more to this story. No one just turns on the water and jumps in without testing the temperature. He left the hospital AMA and then had to go back. Did a doctor testify that wouldn’t have changed the outcome?

Idk why the water would have been that hot to begin with and that’s not ok but ppl make decisions constantly that put themselves at risk and like.. we just overlook their part in it. He made multiple bad decisions that could have prevented this

There’s a law, it’s can’t be over 120 agrees to prevent this. The water heater in that hotel shouldn’t have been set above that!

so you're saying this man worked until he was elderly, couldn't stay at the hospital bc of work, and never got to retire but made his family rich in his death? jesus.

I bet he told his manager and the manager was like “okay but you need to contact your coworkers to see if they can cover your shift for you” as if that’s not the manager’s job. THIS is why millennials & Gen Z are speaking out so much about that. The bosses probably thought he was lazy & pressured him to come in

I have NEVER in my life had anything more than slightly warm water at any hotel! Not only that but I would have checked the water prior to getting in… I’m thinking the steam coming from the water wasn’t a clear sign smh!

I loove really hot showers. I still check the water before I step in. Just to make sure its not too hot or cold. I also have neuropathy in my feet. so I wonder how they knew what the water heater was set to? I know that depending on the degree of burn you can approximate the temp. but i didn't know if they checked the temperature or not.

Its not his fault no one expects boiling water to dump on them when they first turn on a shower

There’s been so many times I’ve been in the shower and turned it on. It’s cold at first but I don’t mind bc I have inflammation and like the cold. I’d be shocked if hot came out first.

Not victim blaming but I wonder why he didn’t get out the shower or turn it off. Sounds awful!!
