If its Antarctic vibranium then he would probably die since it would desolve the metals in his blood. Wolverine could handle the adamantium poisoning but probably not having his blood desolved If its wakandan vibranium then yeah it would absorb some hits untill the vibranium releases the kenetic energy and ends up blowing off his arm or worse.
