I write SFF and had the same experience 😑😑😑 But then I submitted a VERY genre fiction story for a literary prize AND WON. so much for their litfics

I literally had a professor for a fiction writing class in college try and force us to write non-fiction memoirs because she wasn't a fan of fiction in general 🙃

the looking down on fantasy (and sci-fi) has always fascinated me like the same people watch reality TV or w/e dumb show but as soon you say you read fantasy, they look down on you hard lol
