performative marketing. tiktok algorithm literally runs on the same GPUs that generative AI does. it's a transformer-based AI system; the T in GPT. ByteTransformer, DeepViT, TRT-ViT, and Monolith are all algorithm parts that run on Nvidia GPUs, which is why tiktok has spent billions on them. when you ask chatgpt a question, it computes for 2 seconds. when you're scrolling here, the same GPUs are computing dozens of times per minute based on your behavior while also working on ranking for the global algorithm, doing image recognition, captions, content moderation etc. might as well say "I don't drink wine because it has alcohol, that's why I chug tequila"
