I found out my husband of 13 years was cheating the day i had my first miscarriage. He came running in the house not to comfort me, but to make sure that I knew that whatever rumors about him that were going around our small town at the time, we’re completely untrue. I hadn’t heard anything, but when he described the “rumors” to me, i knew. He was definitely not sleeping with his coworker, nor the lady at the gym, and definitely not the phlebotomist at the local plasma donation place he was going to. When in fact it was all of those women and more. I staid with him because I had nowhere to go. He went on to do unspeakable things to me over the years. I eventually left because if not, he would have physically ended my life and possibly my kids too.

😞😮💨 Shit. Thank you for this perspective. I honestly forgot that just because something isn’t my reality doesn’t mean it’s not someone else’s. I never got married, so that angle didn’t even cross my mind. And the workplace? Forget it—that’s two families. 😭 I really hope that wasn’t a band they shared with their spouse—like one of their bands. That would be a whole other layer of heartbreak. The memories, the community, the music… all of it, wrapped together. If I married someone who loved Fiona Apple or 311 and saw that on the Jumbotron during a livestream?? Like… seriously. If something like that ever came out… I’ve definitely seen a lot of cheating happen within fan communities, and it just makes my heart hurt. 😞🫶🏻
