As an Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran, 4 combat tours (2 in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan) I agree with him 100%. We had no business in either Iraq or Afghanistan. Read “War is a Racket” by MajGen Smedley Butler.

My dad had 32 years in the army. The last thing he wanted was for his sons to follow suit. I stayed away from military, my brother joined the Air Force and now that my dads been gone almost 15 years my brothers completely forgot he only did it for the college (that he never went to) and is fully indoctrinated.

Worked with a Marine/Army vet. He told me that early in Afghanistan he was walking to base one day when a guy in a brand new white pickup truck offered him a ride. Took him down a dirt road to a trailer home that sat in a dirt lot filled with AC units - thousands. The guy bragged that he and his wife were making millions thru a military contract selling air conditioning to bases and camps. He told my coworker that “when we go to war, a lotta men get rich.” AND THAT WAS JUST FUCKING AIR CONDITIONING.

Jesse Ventura Navy Seal. Bill Salisbury, an attorney in San Diego and a former Navy SEAL officer, has accused Ventura of "pretending" to be a SEAL. He wrote that Ventura blurred an important distinction by claiming to be a SEAL when he was actually a frogman with the UDT. Compared to SEAL teams, UDTs saw less combat and took fewer casualties.

I absolutely loved being in combat. It was exhilarating! The copper tasting fear right before battle. The cruel euphoric joy of being alive after. I've had no greater love in my life. God. How I miss it.
