@zachsmith: I am always an advocate for sharing progress at ALL stages and not just when it’s convenient and sounds great. All of that to say…. Here’s a little video of music ensemble last night! This years ballad is drawn from Billy Joel’s “Lullabye” (yes im going to cry too) and the kids have been digging it in a big way. The progress and musicality has been a sight to behold and it’s only July!! I told the kids last night that this was, of course, a competitive activity but at the core of it… we’re still making ART and that this music should make us feel something. I am always the “everything has a deep meaning” guy in any room I step foot in, but the fact that I’ve had goosebumps, wells of pride, and that churn in your stomach from being emotional about something in July is incredible! What an exciting journey we have ahead of us!!!!! It these kids are playing at a level that makes me feel something in JULY (they are!!!) I am gonna be a mess at our final competition and senior night. I love love LOVE my job.
