The flag lowering ceremony at the India Pakistan border has been held by both sides since 1959. Despite the complex and tense relationship between the two countries, this tradition symbolizes formal peaceful coexistence. The ceremony includes the synchronized lowering of flags by border soldiers from both countries, dignified kicking, saluting, and the solemn closure of the border gates. Waghkh is located 18 kilometers west of Amritsar, India and 17 kilometers east of Lahore, Pakistan, on the border between the two countries. Since the partition of India and Pakistan, the border troops between India and Pakistan have been engaged in a fierce ceremony of closing and lowering flags at the Waghh port every morning and evening. Both soldiers raised their feet as much as possible and dropped heavily in order to make their footsteps louder than the other. Use the loud sound of leather shoes knocking on the ground to showcase the military appearance of the country. The decoration on the distinctive military uniforms of India and Pakistan resembles a cockscomb, and two Indian and Pakistani soldiers compete with each other as if two roosters are facing each other. In the end, amidst the tense atmosphere, soldiers from both countries shook hands and quickly closed their ports, lowering their national flags. This unique landscape is staged every day, attracting tourists from all over the world to visit. Even in 2009, a documentary called 'Wagner' was filmed to document these unique scenes. On May 11, 2025, India and Pakistan resumed their daily joint flag lowering ceremony at the Wagga Port, with cheers from the audience. #India#Pakistan#soldier#whiteflag #top#hot
