As the oldest sibling, I actually love hearing the perspective of the youngest child😭. (I have a younger sister I love her down!) The truth is we are raised differently but I will say that the resentment that comes from your older siblings has absolutely nothing to do with you but it has everything to do with your parents. So essentially yeahhh they need to redirect that beef cause the problem they have isn’t with you lol

oh god, its not about yall, its about the parents. its about us being treated like harshly while the younger siblings get grace and opportunity from parents. older siblings, stop blamming the little siblings when you need to be upset with the parents. however, yall little siblings truly need to understand how to see it from the older sibling side too. yes yall were probably treated better and an older siblings have a right to feel bad about that. not to take it out on the little siblings but to understand where each other is coming from. its not just about yall and i hope yall can wake up and see past yourself!

Yes definitely, I’m no contact with my older sisters cause they have no respect. Constantly try to lil girl me and jealous that my life is put together. They also label me as think I’m better than them. SMH

Girrrrrllll. Thissss is the topic!!! I realized for the longest I’ve never felt “heard” everything I have to say has always been ignored. They don’t respect the younger siblings till you respond in a way they don’t like then YOUR the problem. When really that’s reactive abuse AF!

i’m the 2nd oldest & youngest i definitely be tryna get my mom to parent better than what she did for me & my older brother & same for me w my older sisters frm the other side. i pray for healing & for this older sibling resentment to stop for everyone 🫶🏽

100%! This is so valid & the reason I always say the youngest siblings are better. 😂 We endure a lot of comparison throughout our lives and some of us develop confidence and great social skills because of it while having high levels of awareness. Some of us don't and still struggle due to the dynamic to date.

Older siblings don’t understand that you have them and your parents so it’s more help and then parents learn a lot from their mistakes from parenting their first child so it’s not a free pass for the youngest but the parents learned certain parenting styles are more harmful than helpful

🤏🏾🤏🏾🤏🏾older siblings have to understand that the same way we are growing and learning so are our parents therefore parenting styles will definitely change. Coming from a the youngest child who has a 13 year age gap!

I do agree that the feelings of resentment shouldn’t be directed at you. However, speaking as and oldest child, it’s not always the case that we did the wrong thing. We were the product of first time parents. They disciplined the way it happened to them. We grew up and our parents saw that didn’t work and decided that maybe they should try something different. The things that most older children experience are genuinely traumatizing. It’s not that we want yall to experience the same thing. It’s just that we feel that we endured so much just for you get the “better version” of our parents. I hope this helps 🥰

Only thing I can say as being the middle child is that my two younger siblings experienced a more tired and older version of my parents. But I do feel that they are just as responsible and mature as we are/were. They’re still being raised properly.
