Yall wanted a tutorial and this is the best I can do with the content I had for this painting. I hope this helps and if you have a go then please message me or comment here:) Materials used for this: - miya himi jelly gouache paints: i would recommend reactivating the paints only when you are using them - keep a spray bottle at hand - the brushes were mainly from the gouache palette (the round brush) but I use detailing brushes off amazon - keep two water jars - one for the darker colours and one for the lighter colours and also keep some paper towel at hand to patte off any excess paint - i used standard washy tape for the borders - you can use masking tape but put it on a different surface before directly on the paper - uniball white pen for the highlights - i also used talens white gouache seperately - white is an important colour in gouache and you often need it to mix lighter colours so id recommend getting a seperate bottle - the sketchbook used here is sea white mixed media, any good watercolour paper (preferably hot press) would hold gouache very well. mixed media sketchbooks often do good too. as you can see - it’s sort of a rollercoaster and you mix between focusing on shadows to highlights to shadows. just the overriding advice here would be to do the darkest shadows at the very end! this is a gouache tutorial but you can achieve this with other mediums using similar technique - oil/ acrylics #art #paintingprocess #stepbystep #tutorial #paintingtutorial #gouache #paint
