there ws this article that came out years ago about an office lady, who felt annoyed about another "human accident", that caused her being late to work. she found out that it was her dad, she realized that people 's lives should matter more. that people's silent sufferings must not be shoved into a cubicle of death.

Not Momonga (Praise me) :
People put Japan in a pedestal when it is just a normal country with problems and struggles

When you actually present and they jump. The trauma after is horrible. When I went to work to explain what happened and had my note. I was told to get over it and it’s normal. THE HELL IT IS!! Someone need help and yet their solution was to unalive themselves. I took a leave of absence from work. I was really emotional because it was my first time witnessing someone doing this in front of me.

When I lived in the UK, this was happening occasionally. And yes, everyone including me, was annoyed for being late, no time to think about it. Life is so fast-paced that nobody stops to think about those who couldn't take it anymore ...

In Poland we get human accidents but trains are either 4h late or cancelled

Nothing wrong with it the Japanese just like to be more subtle and call it an “accident” than to say what literally happened out of respect for the individual as it is seen a dishonourable to put your family through something like that.

The first day I moved to Melbourne the train was late and I saw so many people complain that whoever did it was selfish for making them late. Really set the tone for here 😭

This happens all the time in my city, sometimes even multiple times a months. We are mad at the city for not being able to install some safety system

Please move out of the country and find a better work-life balance! It’s really not good for anyone’s physical and mental health. All of us, including you deserve to live. Not to die of working. But to LIVE.

That's not unique to Japan? People have lacked sympathy in the UK as well when delayed because someone lost their life on the tracks, and it's made them late.
