Rumi didn’t run from the darkness inside her. She didn’t pretend to be all light, all perfection. She faced the shadow — the parts of herself she was once ashamed of, afraid of, the parts the world might have called “too much,” “too angry,” “too sensitive,” “too dangerous,” or “too broken.” She saw the hunger, the rage, the grief, the pride, the longing for control… and instead of denying it, instead of pushing it away, she turned toward it with open eyes and an open heart.
