The store is wrong. Period and I hope corporate sees this. It’s the fault of she store cause penny items are not meant to be on the floor and that is the stores fault. If it rings up that way you give it to them. People do Thai at dollar general all the time.

When the Santas came out, my mother in law scanned it and it read .01 the cashier rescanned it a couple more times and scanned another same item and it was still the same price so said “oh well that’s what it’s scanning” and

If the officer has reasonable suspicion of a crime they can detain you. Home depot is saying they stole it. So the officer has to determine if the crime occurred and therefore the detainment.
