@thebombshellsuite: The hardest part about turning 40, was doing it without my mom. My whole life, she made birthdays so incredibly magical, special and fun. The year that she forgot what that day meant - was the year I stopped wanting to really celebrate. Although my partner, family and friends are so wonderful, birthdays continue to feel heavy with grief and nostalgia. Of course I still celebrate - but there is a very palpable missing piece. I wish I could say that I emerged from a challenging decade of 30’s stronger, wiser, and healed….but I cannot quite say any of those things with conviction. All I can say, is that I am just a 40 year old that still wants her mom. 🤍🪽 #grief #griefjourney #motherlessdaughter #endalzheimers
